The Republic of the Philippines is a constitutional republic located in Southeast Asia, west of the Pacific Ocean. It is an archipelago of 7,641 islands,[19] bordered by Taiwan to the north across the Luzon Strait, and Vietnam to the west across the South China Sea. The Sulu Sea to the southwest separates it from the island of Borneo, and the Sulu Sea to the south separates it from other islands in Indonesia. It is bordered to the east by the Philippine Sea. It is classified into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Manila is the capital, while the most populated city is Quezon, and both cities are part of what is called (Metro Manila).
The Philippines, which includes more than 7,000 islands, is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, thanks to its endless white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, volcanoes and crystal-coloured lakes, not to mention the splendor of magnificent rice fields and mountains. So amazing that you can spend days exploring the diverse and sometimes difficult terrain.
In the Philippines, an archipelago of thousands of islands, the climate is generally maritime tropical, with a relatively cool season from December to February when the northeast trade winds prevail, and a hot, humid and rainy season from May to November when the southwest monsoon prevails, and between March and May before the winds arrive. Summer monsoon, the temperature increases and reaches its highest levels of the year, especially in the north-central and inland areas of the large islands, so in general the coldest (or least hot) month is January while the warmest is May.
