Spain is located in the southwest of the continent of Europe, on the Iberian Peninsula. It is bordered to the far south by Gibraltar, which is Spain's only land border, to the east and southeast by the Mediterranean Sea, to the northeast by France, to the northwest and southwest by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west by Portugal. To the north is the Bay of Biscay.[1] Spain includes the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, west of Morocco, and the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean. Spain has an area of 504,782 km2, making it the third largest European country.
Many tourists are attracted to Spain because of its easy access, warm climate, beautiful beaches, and relatively low cost. Among the most important tourist attractions in Spain are Madrid and its museums, the El Escoral Palace, the Valen Valley, the Emerald Coast, northern Barcelona, Granada, Seville, the Canary Islands, and many others. The number of tourists arriving to Spain in 2003 reached About 51,829,596 tourists with revenues amounting to 46 million dollars, and in 2005 AD the Ministry of Tourism estimated the daily cost in Madrid at approximately only 330 dollars.
Spain enjoys a diverse climate, where the weather is cold and humid in the northern coastal areas, and the annual temperature in those areas reaches 14 degrees Celsius, and in Bilbao the temperatures range from 10 to 19 degrees Celsius, and the climate in the central plateau is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The temperature in Madrid in winter is approximately 8 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius in summer. In the regions of Andalusia and Levante, the climate is generally moderate, but in summer temperatures reach more than 40 degrees Celsius sometimes.
This visa is only for the purpose of leisure travel, including vacations, sightseeing, visiting friends and family, and other leisure activities. If, during any stage of the visit to Spain, the applicant intends to engage in business or official duties, he or she must refer to other relevant visa sections.
Once applications are received by the Visa Application Centre, they will be sent to the Embassy of Spain in Tripoli. After that, the embassy can contact the applicant directly for a personal interview (if applicable) or for any other inquiries. Once the assessment is completed by the Embassy of Spain, the decision along with the passport and other relevant documents will be available for collection at the Visa Application Centre.
